Shri Tirupati Balaji

During his rule on Earth, Lord Balaji had an unexpected loss of hair. Neela Devi, a Gandharva princess, hastily clipped off a section of her magnificent mane and humbly handed her chopped hair to the Lord, asking him to place them on his head. The god, pleased with her dedication, accepted the thoughtful gift and made the proclamation that everyone who visits his shrine and offers his or her hair at the god's feet will be blessed. Since then, it has become customary for devotees to shave their heads in the temple either before or after their wishes come true.
Often considered to as the richest deity, Srinivasa or Balaji grants his followers' requests.
